Subject outline
Innovative thinking is one of the key attributes global businesses look for in employees. In this subject you will be challenged to identify and analyse problems from multiple disciplinary perspectives and synthesise these findings in ways that suggest new ideas. You will sharpen your powers of observation and empathy. You will develop a set of creative thinking skills to employ in the process of idea generation and refinement. You will learn how to conduct research to explore a challenge and the potential of ideas to address it. In the process, you will develop communication and interpersonal skills through working in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams. This is the first of a three-subject core of the Bachelor of Commerce, along with Evaluate and Negotiate and Execute and Manage Change. On completion of these subjects, as a Bachelor of Commerce graduate you will be able to analyse a problem, creatively think outside the box to define a solution, negotiate the terms of that solution with a diverse range of stakeholders, and manage the implementation of that solution in an existing business or one you will create for yourself.

Twelve 3.0 hours block mode per study period on weekdays during the day from week 27 to week 28 and delivered via blended.
"This will be a block mode subject offered at Melbourne. The learning activities will involve a mix of online activities, guest lectures, EBL classes and other activities which will be defined through the design phase."
