Subject outline

In this subject, students will gain knowledge in systemic physiology which includes the respiratory system, renal system, endocrine system and gastrointestinal system. Content is divided into three modules and delivered via live interactive lectures and online resources linked to the student learning management system (LMS). Content will be supported by a comprehensive tutorial/workshop case study program.

Prerequisites If student in one of [HBHS BHealth Sci, HZHSB Health Sci/Bus, HZHSID Health Sci/Intl Dev, AZAHS Arts/Health Sci, HBHN Human Nutr, HZNDP Applied Sci/Master of Dietetic Practice, HZHSDP Health Sci/ Master of Dietetic Practice] then must have passed HBS1HBA & HBS1HBB. If student from SBMS BBiomedical Sci then must have passed BIO1OF (prior to 2015) or BIO1MGC (2015 onwards). All other students require coordinator's apporval for admission into the quota.

Special conditions BHealth Sci students need to achieve a minimum of 60C in both HBS1HBA and HBS1HBB. BHealth Sci will be selected on the basis of the highest average in the subjects HBS1HBA and HBS1HBB until quota is reached. All science students for whom the subject is not a core or core elective, will only be admitted if quota permits.
