Subject outline

In this subject students will examine education and schooling principles in global and local contexts. Students will consider a variety of pedagogical styles and the principles on which they are based. Included will be theories of learning and mind including, humanistic and behaviourist theories and learning styles and preferences. Approaches to teacher evaluation will be examined and the issue of teaching as labour, profession or art will be discussed.
