Changes to the face-to-face exam timetable in Semester 1 2021

Due to recent announcements by the Victorian Government, we have made some changes to the Semester 1 exam timetable. Face-to-face exams will now run between 21 – 25 June.

Please make sure you check the timetable carefully to know the date, time and location of your exams.

Is my face-to-face exam still running?

Most face-to-face exams are still running however they have been rescheduled to a later date. Please read the updated timetable carefully to know when your exam is scheduled.

A small number of face-to-face exams will be moved to online or removed from the timetable completely. If this is the case, your subject coordinator will be in touch with more details. Please also check the LMS for updates.

How do I know if there have been changes to my exams or assessments?

All students whose exams have been changed will receive an email on 28/05/2021 outlining the changes to their exams.

Your academics may make changes to some of your assessments. If this is the case, they will contact you via LMS or email. It's important that you continue to monitor the Exam Timetable website, your LMS and your emails as updates will be continue to be provided.

Will I have to wear a mask to my face-to-face exam?

Yes, mask wearing will apply as per the current Victorian Government's restrictions. Find information about wearing a face mask in Victoria.

I am currently self-isolating due to the recent COVID outbreak in Victoria and cannot attend my exam. What do I do?

If you have a face-to-face exam which you are not able to attend due to mandatory isolation, please apply for special consideration. You will need to provide documentation to support your application.

If you have an online assessment and feel your preparation has been severely disadvantaged due to mandatory isolation, you may also apply for special consideration. Applications will require supporting documentation and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

My preparation for exams has been disrupted by the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria, what do I do?

We have a range of support services available to students throughout this time. Please see our Help and Support website for more information.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for Special Consideration. Check the Special Consideration website or more information.

What about online assessments?

There are no changes to the timetable for online exams. Assessments will still run at their scheduled time.

I am at the Sydney campus, will my face-to-face exams still run?

There will also be changes to the timetable for Sydney students. This is because students in Victoria and Sydney need to sit the exam at the same time. Please read the updated timetable carefully to know when your exam is scheduled.

How will I be informed of any further changes?

To stay informed of any further important updates, please ensure we have your best email address and mobile number so we can easily contact you. We will communicate all important information via your student email account and SMS. You can update your details in StudentOnline at any time.

How will face-to-face exams be COVID-Safe?

Cleaning

The venue will be deep cleaned before all exams including bathrooms and high touch areas.

Masks

Mask wearing will apply as per the current Victorian Government's restrictions. Find information about wearing a face mask in Victoria.

Sanitising stations

Hand sanitising stations will be available at various locations throughout the venue. Handwash facilities will also be available in all bathrooms.

Known case locations

Please ensure you are familiar with any known case locations and follow the public health orders relating to testing and mandatory quarantine arrangements.

Physical distancing

Physical distancing of 1.5 m will apply.  We have reduced the number of people allowed in each space throughout the venue accordingly.

Allocated seating

Seating for students will be allocated and adequately distanced. Venue staff will be on hand to help manage this.

I can't complete my assessment from home, what should I do?

Due to COVID-19, if you are able to complete your assessments from home, then you should. Please follow all rules and guidance regarding the COVID-19 restrictions where you live when considering coming to campus. Although if you can't complete an online assessment from home we have some study spaces available for you to use on campus.

If I have an Alternative Exam Arrangement, how will this impact me?

If your face-to-face exam has been rescheduled and you have Alternative Exams Arrangements, we will contact you next week (1 June 2021 - 4 June 2021) with your updated arrangements.

If your exam has been removed from the timetable or changed to Online, your subject coordinator will accommodate your arrangements. Please chat to them directly if you have queries.

What if my exam is cancelled due to COVID-19?

If face-to-face exams need to be cancelled or rescheduled, students will be contacted via their student email and SMS. Please ensure your details are up to date in Student Online so we can contact you with important information. Updates will also be provided by Subject Coordinators via the LMS.
