Future Study - IT
Updated 24/05/2023
If you have subjects to complete in your course at the end of 2024, you will be transferred to the equivalent La Trobe degree, the Bachelor of Information Technology (on-line).
You can apply to transfer earlier (i.e. for Semester 2, 2023 or Semester 1 or 2, 2024) via the “Domestic Undergraduate students” information on the Course Transfer webpage.
Please note that an early transfer cannot be guaranteed and that your application will be assessed as per La Trobe’s Course transfer policy. Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection.
When making your application, you should also consider:
- As part of your Course Transfer application, you will need to apply for Advanced Standing (credit for previous study). Your application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and it cannot be guaranteed that you would receive credit for all Didasko subjects that you successfully completed; and,
- The capping of the subject fees will no longer apply, and you would be subject to the standard fee amounts and be required to pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) twice per year; and,
- There are only two majors available in the Bachelor of Information Technology (on-line): Software engineering and Cloud analytics. This may affect the number of subjects for which you may be eligible for Advanced Standing (credit for previous study), based on the subjects you have completed as part of your La Trobe-Didasko course.

No, we have made the decision to delay the transfer of Didasko students study IT courses from the end of 2023 to the end of 2024.
We will continue to offer your subjects in the same format that you experienced with Didasko during this time. If you successfully complete the requirements for your course, you will graduate with the award qualification you are currently enrolled in.
If at the end of 2024 you still have subjects to complete in your course, you will be transferred to the equivalent La Trobe degree. We will be in touch with you in the future about this process.
Yes, all subjects, assessments and learning outcomes will be the same. There will be an adjustment to the due dates for your assessment to accommodate the pause to teaching.
No, due to the pause in teaching and 3 week extension to assessment, Study Block 4 will not be running. If you are enrolled in Study Block 4 your enrolment will be transferred to Study Block 5. If you are unable to undertake Study Block 5, we can support you to adjust your enrolment.
For the remainder of 2023, we will be offering Study Block 5, 8 and 11. We are currently constructing an outline of the specific dates and subjects offered for these three Study Blocks and will publish that information here in these FAQs when ready.
La Trobe will automatically transfer your enrolment to the next available Study Block. For example
- If you are enrolled in Study Block 4, your enrolment will transfer to Study Block 5
- If you are enrolled in Study Block 6 or 7 your enrolment will transfer to Study Block 8
- If you are enrolled in Study Block 9 or 10 your enrolment will transfer to Study Block 11
If you are unable to study in any of the Study Blocks listed, we are available to support you to adjust your enrolment.
We will be prioritising support to any student needing to adjust their enrolment for Study Block 5 and will be in touch with you directly to offer support.
