Open Universities Australia, sometimes referred to as OUA, is a not-for-profit dedicated to helping students access quality education.

Their website features thousands of courses from a range of leading Australian universities, including La Trobe. Their job is to help students find the right course and get them enrolled to complete their studies online through the university the student wishes to gain their qualification from.

OUA is helping with the enrolment and account administration for select La Trobe University online Bachelor degrees. In this case, they are helping to transfer students from courses previously offered via Didasko, into La Trobe’s online studies.

La Trobe has chosen to partner with OUA to ensure that the transfer of studies to La Trobe’s equivalent online course is smooth and seamless.

OUA will not be involved in the teaching or delivery of any course content and will not issue any final qualifications. La Trobe will continue to teach students, deliver course content and issue qualifications once your coursework is successfully completed online.

During the process, you’ll receive a sign in for the OUA website, as well as access to the OUA student advisory. Their friendly team can help you with re-enrolling in future subjects.

In early May, you will be provided with information on how to book a one-on-one session with La Trobe staff who will take you through your individual study plan.  These one-on-one study plan sessions will be held throughout May and June.

This information will enable you to enrol via the OUA system in time for 31 July 2023.

OUA will securely store your contact and personal details to manage the transfer process and allow re-enrolments to be processed. They will keep your details secure for the duration of the time you complete your course and for a period after you finish your studies.

OUA will not be involved in the teaching or delivery of any course content and will not issue any final qualifications. La Trobe will continue to teach students, deliver course content and issue qualifications once your coursework is successfully completed online.

Being enrolled through OUA will not impact the delivery of your course content or learning outcomes. You will continue to have the same experience, with the addition of receiving additional contact and study tips from them.

If you do not wish to be transferred through OUA, you will need to complete a Discontinuation of Enrolment form to withdraw from your course completely. If you’d like to resume studying a full Bachelors degree at a later date, you can re-apply directly via La Trobe, including applying for any relevant Advanced Standing (Credit).

You do not need to make any payments to OUA. Payments will be made directly to La Trobe as per our normal process.  Please refer to our costs, fees and scholarships webpage for additional information on course payments.

  • For questions about the La Trobe online course and subjects you’re being transferred into: Please contact ASK La Trobe.
  • For questions about enrolling through the Open Universities Australia platform: Please contact Open Universities Australia.

No. OUA will create your account during the transfer process, after which they will be in touch to help you log in and start using the Student Hub. Please do not create an account yourself.

If you already have an OUA account, please do not create another one.

Yes, all subjects, assessments and learning outcomes will be the same. There will be an adjustment to the due dates for your assessment to accommodate the pause to teaching.

As a business student, Study Block 3 will be your final Study Block in your Didasko course. After Study Block 3, we will transfer you to the core Business degree at La Trobe and your studies will recommence from Semester 2, 2023 (commencing July 31, 2023).

The initial transition to La Trobe systems will be in the same course and subjects in which you are currently enrolled. You will receive credit for all Didasko-run subjects that you have completed to date when we undertake the transfer process into the La Trobe equivalent course. You will only need to complete any remaining subjects that you have yet to undertake to meet the requirements of your course.

The transfer to La Trobe core courses will be taking place later in the year. We are currently working on mapping individual study plans for students in preparation for your transition to our core La Trobe degrees. We will be in touch with you once these plans are ready and will assist you to choose the relevant subjects to complete your new La Trobe degree.

We are currently undertaking mapping for all Didasko students to transfer them into the equivalent La Trobe Business course. The University will be in contact with all students with more information about this soon, including students who are currently on Leave of Absence.

Following transfer to the core La Trobe course in Semester 2, a wider range of electives will be available.
