Our Student Legal Service is a partnership between us and West Heidelberg Community Legal, a service of Banyule Community Health.

Our service provides free and confidential legal help to students enrolled at all our university campuses.

Confidentiality and Privacy

The La Trobe Student Legal Service is required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and depending on the circumstances, we are also required to comply with other applicable privacy laws such as the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). The personal information we collect about you is used to register and identify you with the La Trobe Student Legal Service and for the provision of legal services to you. The La Trobe Student Legal Service, in partnership with West Heidelberg Community Legal, maintains confidential records of the legal services we provide. We do not pass on any information about your legal matter to La Trobe University, or any other person or entity, without your agreement except if necessary as required by law.
