Mental Health Basics Training

The aim of the Mental Health Basics Training session is to learn about depression, suicide awareness, anxiety and psychosis and how to have a conversation with a person who might be struggling with these mental health conditions.  This 3-hour training session is free and will be available to both staff and students.

The training will be held here at Board Room, Building 4, Room 4211 and we have a maximum of 20 places per session. Bookings can be made by calling (02)6024 9627 or via email at

2 sessions in Semester 2, 2018:

Monday, 20 August 2018 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm

Thursday, 30 August 2018 from 9.30am to 12.30pm

You only need to attend one session BUT you need to book as there will only be 20 places in each session.

Mindful Mondays

Come for a mindful walk on Mindful Mondays. When you're practicing mindfulness, you focus on the present and aware of moment-by-moment thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and surrounding environments, rather than the normal ruminations on the past or future. Presented by Robyn Quinell, Senior Counsellor.

Catch the Counsellor in The Commons

Robyn Quinell (Senior Counsellor) will be available every Tuesday in the  Student Commons (Next to La Moka CafĂ©) from 1.00pm -2.00pm. Come along and say "hi" - you don't need to have issues to chat - but if something is bothering you, you can make a private confidential appointment.
