Downloading and installing NVivo
Before you download the latest version:
- Uninstall the previous version.
- You must agree to the end user License Agreement by selecting ACCEPT:
Installing NVivo
Windows
- Download the latest version by accepting the Staff License Agreement or the Student License Agreement and selecting the required download i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit.
- Click Download.
- Click Save As.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the installer and extract the contents of the zip file.
- Open the NVivo11-xXX folder and run NVivo11.xXX.exe.
- If prompted by User Account Control click Yes.
- Click Install.
- Complete the install using the default installation options.
- Run NVivo.
- Navigate to the location where you extracted the installation files and open License Number.txt.
- Enter the NVivo license key from the text file and click OK.
- Enter the required information and click Activate.
- Click OK.
- Enter your name and initials and click OK.
- NVivo is now activated.
Mac OS
- Download the latest version by accepting the Staff License Agreement or the Student License Agreement and selecting NVivo 10 (for Mac).
- Click Download.
- Enter your username and password and click OK.
- Select Save File (default) and click OK.
- Click Downloads in the Dock and select NVivo.11.dmg.zip
- Double-click to expand NVivo.11.dmg.zip
- Double-click NVivo11.dmg
- Drag the NVivo icon to the Applications folder.
- Click Go and select Applications.
- Double-click NVivo.
- Click OK.
- Click Agree.
- Enter the NVivo license key from the License Number.txt file from the expanded NVivo.11.dmg.zip
- Click Next.
- Enter the required information and click Activate.
- Click OK.
- Enter your name and initials and click Continue.
- NVivo is now activated.
