In this subject, students expand their knowledge of the evidence that underpins the orthotic management of the foot in clinical practice. This includes an in-depth exploration of the principles, prescription considerations, and treatment processes associated with the orthotic management of the foot. Evidence based orthotic treatment of various pathologies and foot conditions are presented in the context of current clinical practice.

01. Review and analyse clinical and research evidence of the orthotic management of a range of common foot pathologies in the context of interdisciplinary team management

02. Use judgement and initiative to safely undertake a clinical assessment of the lower limb including casting, orthotic fabrication and fitting in regards to musculoskeletal and neurological function.

03. Review and analyse pathomechanics, gait deviations, orthotic mechanics, orthosis design to inform treatment procedures for people with a range of common foot disorders
