Subject outline
In this subject students will explore approaches and develop skills used by occupational therapists to enable change in human occupation across diverse practice settings and client groups. Students will develop and apply skills in occupational analysis, person-centred intentional communication and facilitating group occupational experiences. Foundational skills for occupationally-focused, professional practice will be learned, including critical reflection, client-centred goal setting, documentation, and self-management. Building on previous subjects in this course, the dynamic relationship between person, occupation, environment will be further examined, particularly how environmentally-focussed interventions can be utilised with individual and groups.
