This subject addresses La Trobe's Global Citizenship Essential. Global Citizenship is about learning to live in an interconnected world, including the social, environmental, political and economic challenges this brings.

Subject outline

In this subject students consolidate and add to the skills gained in French 4. We focus on further development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skils and continue to learn about French culture through the materials used for language acquisition. Students successfully completing the subject should be able to read French, write accurately and make sense of and participate in a variety of communicative situations presented in French, within the limits of the vocabulary and tenses introduced in the subject. The subject should also enable them to obtain a B1 level in the Common European Framework.

Reflective essay linking interview of French-speaking participant about his/her memory of WW2 (specifically collaboration) with the historiography of Vichy France studied during semester.
