The focus in this subject is on the relationships between the forms and functions of language in the classroom and forms and functions of language in other contexts. Exploring these relationships is the basis for students to reflect on what they as teachers need to know about the language they are teaching and how the features of that language need to be presented to people learning that language.

01. Develop an advanced and integrated understanding of how theory and practice are inter-related.
- Activities:
- Students will examine a chosen grammar topic. They will investigate it linguistically and then re-examine it from various teaching perspectives
02. Research and apply established and emerging theories and methodological options for the integration of form and function in language learning
- Activities:
- Students will explore ideas and ways to create language learning activities that integrate both form and function. They will reflect on what they as teachers need to know about the language they are teaching.
03. Develop a critical understanding of how language can be presented in different ways in learning contexts
- Activities:
- Students will critically reflect on the features of language that need to be presented to learners as well as on how these features might best be presented to them.
04. Develop and apply knowledge and skills that demonstrate understanding of the importance of context and sequencing of grammar activities.
- Activities:
- Students will reflect on and evaluate their own ideas, decision making processes, and performance in relation to design and presentation of language forms and functions.
