An understanding of the nature of sounds (acoustics) and auditory perception (psychoacoustics) is fundamental to the field of Audiology. In this subject students will develop an understanding of basic concepts that underline acoustics, psychoacoustics and speech perception and will apply this knowledge to practical aspects of audiology.

- Lecture and workshop classes. Additional information (notes, websites, animations and an interactive 'additive synthesis demo' application) provided on the LMS/lab computers. Worksheet of practice problems (not assessed). Components of a written examination.
