Bendigo International Student Programs
Bendigo International Student Club (BISC)
BISC is a student-run club established as a forum for international students to meet, share ideas and socialise. BISC runs several trips each semester to Melbourne and also runs trips to diverse places around Victoria including Healesville Sanctuary, Ballarat's Sovereign Hill, the Great Ocean Road and more. In addition to trips, BISC hosts a range of local outings, BBQ's and pizza/movie nights, sports competitions, games and an end of year ball.
UniMates is a program that connects current students with new international students. During the first six weeks of each semester participants will take part in a variety of social activities such as indoor rock climbing, bowling, internationals dinners and others. The program aims to assist new students in their transition to life at La Trobe University, Bendigo and confronts common issues such as homesickness and language barriers.
Returning Home Workshop and Ceremony
The Returning Home Workshop is a program for students in their final semester of study at La Trobe University, Bendigo. The workshop is designed to create awareness amongst these students of the personal and practical matters they will soon face relating to "returning home." A recognition ceremony closes each semester to honour students who are about to complete degrees or semesters abroad.
