Hi (or “hiya!” as they say here), my name is Emily and I’m a 3rd year Podiatry student. You may wonder why I’m interested in feet and it’s a question I get asked a lot. To be honest, I don’t really know!
I originally studied a double degree of Arts and Music but once I finished and started working fulltime in the real world, I realised that I wasn’t being fulfilled.
Perhaps it was because I wasn’t having constant contact with people, or my job didn’t involve helping others and having an impact on people’s health and wellbeing.
Whatever the reason, I am really enjoying my course so far; but even more so because I’m currently overseas.I have always been interested in traveling and exploring the world, so I took the amazing opportunity to leave home for six months and complete a semester abroad here in Glasgow, Scotland!
I’m studying and living in the heart of the city at Glasgow Caledonian University. I’ll be here until May and will spend another two and a half months travelling across the UK and Europe before heading home for 2nd Semester at La Trobe.
Glasgow is completely different to Melbourne, the culture, the food and the people- but I love it and can’t wait to share more with you.
Follow my overseas adventures as a podiatry student and enjoy watching my video blogs!
