Elizabeth Proust AO is one of the most influential Australian women of her generation. She has led an extensive list of major companies, government and community organisations with flair and integrity throughout her career which spans more than thirty years.

Ms Proust served as Chief of Staff to the Victorian Premier John Cain and in 1987 was appointed Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industry, Technology and Resources. In 1990 she was appointed CEO of the City of Melbourne and in July 1995 she was appointed Secretary of the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, the most senior public service position in Victoria. She spent eight years with the ANZ Group, where she held numerous senior executive roles. She is currently Chairman of Nestle Australia, Chairman of the Bank of Melbourne and a Director of Perpetual Ltd, Insurance Manufacturers Australia Pty Ltd and Sinclair Knight Merz Pty Ltd. She is also a member of the JP Morgan Advisory Council.

Her professional commitments have been balanced by her steadfast contribution to charitable community organisation in the arts, family services and education, for which service she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2010.
