Sport and Exercise Medicine Research List
The foot and ankle research program within the Centre is led by Professor Hylton B Menz and Associate Professor Karl Landorf and focuses on the epidemiology, biomechanics, diagnosis and treatment of common musculoskeletal disorders affecting the foot and ankle.
The tendon team is led by Professor Jill Cook. Along with Dr Sean Docking and Dr Ebonie Rio, the team runs many research projects that span understanding the development of pathology, imaging, pain and the brain as well as exercise-based interventions.
The knee research program within the Centre is led by Prof Kay Crossley, Dr Adam Culvenor and Dr Christian Barton. This program focuses on the prevention and management of knee injuries and osteoarthritis across the lifespan.
The hip pain research program is led by Prof Kay Crossley, Dr Joanne Kemp and Dr Adam Semciw. Our research focuses on hip pain across the lifespan from young adults to the elderly.
The upper limb research program focuses on increasing our understanding of tendon conditions at the shoulder, elbow and hand, and improving the management of these common conditions.
