Research for Development Impact Network

The Institute has partnered with the Research for Development Impact Network (RDIN) to deliver an action research project which aims to enhance research uptake in the international development sector in Australia.

In collaboration with Praxis Consultants, Institute staff Lisa Denney, Chris Adams and Lis Jackson are working with small teams in 12 development organisations to trial ways to improve how they use research. The 12 organisations include international NGOs, consulting companies, universities and donors.

Each of the teams is implementing an action research project which is based on a preliminary analysis of what is helping and hindering research uptake in their organisation. Institute staff meet regularly with each of these teams to reflect on what has been done to date and explore next steps.

Lessons from each of the teams have been drawn out and shared in two workshops with a final report to be published in October 2020.

This DFAT-funded project runs from August 2019 to October 2020.
