Selection criteria

Successful applicants must:

  1. Be enrolled or expected to be enrolled in an anthropology major or double major at the ANU, UQ or La Trobe in 2015
  2. Be able to enroll in ANU's ANTH3010 (Supervised Research in Anthropology) in Winter Session 2015 or 2nd Semester 2015; UQ'sANTH2210 Independent Study in 2nd Semester 2015 or La Trobe's Reading subject HUS3RS2 in 2nd Semester 2015
  3. Be able to attend at least two weeks of fieldwork for the course during the June/July university holidays
  4. Have a prior academic record of at least a Credit (5.0) average
  5. Have previously demonstrated an interest in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures
  6. Have demonstrated a capacity to be flexible and take direction
  7. Have demonstrated a capacity for research in a potentially physically challenging environment
  8. Hold a current manual driver's license (highly desirable)

How to apply

In order to be considered for a Placement, students will be required to provide the following:

  • A short statement addressing the above eight Selection Criteria (max. 2 pages)
  • Dates of availability to undertake the placement
  • A current resume
  • Names of 2 referees, one of whom should be a recent academic supervisor or tutor
