Study in Shepparton

Enjoy rural community living while attending a leading university with a close-knit and supportive campus culture.

Study in the heart of Shepparton with high-standard teaching and study facilities, including our clinical learning unit with advanced teaching technologies.

Studying at a smaller campus means you'll benefit from small class-sizes, with easy access to dedicated and supportive staff who are committed to your success. You’ll get a tailored study experience thanks to our connections to the local community and industry, and gain hands-on experience through industry placement opportunities.

Choose from undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees, with full-time and part-time study options. Our courses respond to our community’s workforce needs and the current job market. We have the second-largest rural nursing school in Victoria. All of our student nurses successfully gained employment after recently graduating.

You can begin studying with us straight out of year 12 through our articulated TAFE pathway. If you have taken some time out or are looking to advance your career, you can return to study as a mature-age student.

Our Regional Reward program guarantees you the opportunity to participate in a work placement program and receive a Student Exchange Mobility Grant for overseas study.

If you're thinking about studying online at La Trobe and live in the Shepparton region, you'll benefit from the best of both worlds – flexible study along with access to local support services and work placement opportunities.

If it wasn’t for the Women in Leadership Bursary, I wouldn’t have been able to go to the Philippines to do a five-week nursing placement. I have six younger siblings and feel like I need to set an example and be a role model for them. I am the first in my family to go to uni – this is a big thing for my family.

I wanted a pathway to teaching and to stay local. The Bachelor of Arts was great because it offered me a variety of interesting subjects. I really enjoyed studying English, history and sociology, and learning to see the world from different perspectives and how events in history are related to today. Studying at the Shepparton Campus meant that I could live with my parents while studying. It also gave me more opportunities for one-to-one time with lecturers – you can just knock on their door and ask for help. We have amazing supportive staff. Everyone knows everyone else and helps each other out – you never feel alone or get lost.
