How to apply

Current Opportunities

How to apply for Current Opportunities

From time to time, we are contacted by organisations offering placement opportunities for our students. These opportunities are made available to students, and all students considering SHE3FRW are welcome to apply. See the "Placements" page to view current opportunities).

Each opportunity may have a different application process, as this will be dependent upon the host organisation's preference. Some organisations are happy for the University to match a student to their opportunity, while other organisations prefer to manage the process themselves. The application process for each opportunity will be outlined in the Position Description document (if applicable).

Important: If you are successful in securing an advertised placement, don't forget that you will still need to enroll in the subject SHE3FRW! Once your paperwork has been completed, you should receive an email with instructions on how to enroll.

Questions?

If you have questions about applying for an existing opportunity, please contact the Experiential Learning team or Subject Coordinator.

Self Sourced Placements: Application Form

How to apply if you have sourced your own placement

Now that you have secured a placement, you will need to apply to participate in the subject.

Please complete the below Self-Sourced Placement Application form. Your placement will then be reviewed to ensure that your project aligns with the intended learning outcomes for this subject. Click here to review the subject learning outcomes (Graduate Capabilities & Intended Learning Outcomes).

As part of the application, you must complete the online placement application form. You will need to obtain details about the placement from the Employer in order to complete this form. As part of the vetting process we generally contact host organisations to confirm placement details. This is a regular part of the process, however it is a good idea to let your host know that we will be in touch so that they are aware of the process.

Application Documentation

When completing the application form, please attach the following documents (PDF preferred):

  • A current CV* and Cover Letter*
  • Additional information relating to your placement (if relevant)

*It is recommended that you have your CV and Cover Letter reviewed by staff from Career Ready before you submit your documents.

Your cover letter should be addressed to the subject coordinator, and address why you want to do this subject, and what you are hoping to get out of it.

Application Outcomes

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the Subject Coordinator, and you will receive an email advising you of the outcome, along with instructions for next steps. You can expect to receive an update within 5 business days.
