Nursing and Midwifery
We have a strong relationship with The Alfred Health Clinical School as part of our Academic Research Network. The program allows students and academics access to expert clinicians and the opportunity to participate in challenging placements and research. The partnership develops leading research in areas of Nursing and Allied Health and provides a developmental environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students to expand on their classroom knowledge.
Our Podiatry clinic, located on the Melbourne Campus allows students to participate in diagnosis and client management clinical placements. Students work closely with registered podiatrists at the clinic to develop their skills and provide podiatric care to patients within the community.
Our collaboration with CSIRO and Murray Darling Basin Authority aims to generate, synthesise and communicate research to support the adaptive management of environmental water allocations, manage water quality events and build ecology research to inform future water policy. The Murray Darling Freshwater Centre focuses on biodiversity, ecosystem function and resilience using laboratories at our Wodonga and Mildura campuses. With guidance from fifty staff members, Honours, Masters and PhD Life Science students can participate in detailed research that supports Federal and State government land and water management.
Surface and Materials Science
The Centre for Materials and Surface Science (CMSS) has a strong history of contract research and development. Our analytical specialists have worked with more than 50 Australian and international companies over 15 years, providing high-quality surface analytical and x-ray imaging services and collaborative R&D projects. Our laboratories host Australia's most comprehensive surface science capability, featuring a range of custom built ultra-high vacuum instrumentation and modern surface analytical instruments. Through our core research partner ANFF (Australian National Fabrication Facility), we have access to a broad range of fabrication capabilities and research opportunities.
