Partnerships of the Cisco - La Trobe Centre for AI and Internet of Things

Our major external relationship is with Cisco. Our strong strategic partnership has resulted in the Cisco-La Trobe Centre for AI and Internet of Things.

The partnership has also seen the presence of the Cisco Chair of AI and the Internet of Things, Professor Wei Xiang, and a Co-Innovation Centre at the University. This brings together researchers and industry to facilitate collaboration and create opportunities to solve real-world problems, through technology innovation.

The partnership also offers La Trobe access to Cisco’s best in class global programs such as:

  • its Networking Academy modules in IoT, cybersecurity and entrepreneurship
  • access to the Digital Schools Network to share resources and connections.

We’ve also established links with other industry partners, such as the SmartSat CRC headquartered in Adelaide. Professor Wei Xiang is the Director of SmartSat’s HDR Program.
