The effect of land-use on birds of the Strzelecki Ranges
Rural landscapes around the globe are changing rapidly as cities expand and intensive farming practices increase. This can cause changes and challenges for wildlife living in these landscapes.
We are exploring how rural landscapes change, what types of new habitat emerge in these landscapes and how bird communities respond to these patterns.
This project is investigating how different types of land-use influence the bird community in agricultural hill country.
This research aims to inform the development of future land management strategies in rural regions, providing insights for understanding and enhancing rural biodiversity in changing landscapes which are also managed for people and agriculture.
