About the Department
The Department of Psychology, Counselling and Therapy is an integrated department offering traditional and online learning experiences. It operates across multiple campuses and locations, including Melbourne, Bendigo and Albury-Wodonga, with subjects also taught in Shepparton and Mildura.
Our psychology program has a long history of success, having been operating since 1972. In recent QS World University Rankings, we have been ranked among the top 150 or 200 universities worldwide for Psychology.
Our academic staff have won national awards for teaching excellence and the professional programs team has been recognised at La Trobe for their excellence in supporting students to achieve high quality outcomes.
The Department offers a range of courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels specialising in the scientific study of human behaviour, including fields such as clinical psychology, health psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, behavioural neuroscience, neuropsychology and social psychology.
Over many years our Department and staff members have had numerous partners locally, nationally and globally with research institutions, public health organisations and industry that enrich the teaching and learning of our students and provide opportunities for high quality research.
