Integration – Step Toward Wellness

A unique group is being offered jointly by the disciplines of Art Therapy and Clinical Psychology for the La Trobe University students undertaking graduate studies.

The group will be guided by the rationale from the work of Dr Daniel Siegel on ways to promote integration of nervous system to facilitate a state of wellness.

An Open studio approach to Art Therapy will be used and the participants will be invited to engage in using Art Materials of their choice to engage in Art Making.

The objective of this will be to engage in creativity without any element of perfecting Art Making. The participants will be guided to recognise any Thoughts, Emotions and Feelings related to Art without any expectation to talk about them.

Simple body based exercises such as breathing, posture etc. will be discussed as ways to facilitate a sense of calm and wellbeing.
