Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre

The Victorian Victorian Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre is located in the Margot Prior Wing of the La Trobe University Community Children’s Centre, and was established in partnership with the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre to undertake joint research and knowledge translation. This exceptional facility, to be known as the Margot Prior Autism Intervention Centre, caters for young autistic children (aged 0 to 6) who receive early intervention and care within both specialised and inclusive settings each day.

As a centre within a world-class university our research is supported by the excellent La Trobe University infrastructure and services.

Early Start Denver Model

Staff are trained to implement the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), an individually tailored developmental, behavioural and relationship-based intervention program, designed for use in a naturalistic and inclusive group environment.
