Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre
The Victorian Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre (ASELCC) provides early learning programs and specific support for children with an ASD aged 0 to 6 years and training and support for parents in the care of their children.
The Centre also has a strong emphasis on research and workforce training.
The Centre was established in 2010 as a collaboration between OTARC, the La Trobe University Community Children's Centre and the Royal Children's Hospital, funded by the Federal Government.
Early Start Denver Model
Staff at the Margot Prior Wing are trained to implement the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), an individually tailored developmental, behavioural and relationship-based intervention program, designed for use in a naturalistic and inclusive group environment.
A key component of the program is parent understanding, and training and information sessions for parents are held annually at the Centre.
Staff at the ASELCC have the capacity to train other professionals in the ESDM. For training requests within or outside of Australia, please contact our ESDM training team for more information.
