La Trobe recognised for gender equality

La Trobe University has been awarded the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation.

The citation is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces. Criteria for the citation include: leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, preventing sex-based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.

La Trobe is one of just over 100 organisations nationally to secure the citation, driven by our demonstrated commitment to supporting gender equality throughinitiatives such as the SAGE Athena SWAN program, the development of a Women in Research Strategy for all women at La Trobe and our proactive stance on violence prevention on campus.
