MBA tour to visit rural and regional Vic

Students from across Victoria will uncover the secrets of state's rural and regional economies when the inaugural La Trobe MBA Regional Study Tour begins in Bendigo on Sunday, 16 November.

The week long roadshow will tour the Goulburn Valley food bowl as well as Central Victoria, which has seen transformational growth in recent years.

'The La Trobe MBA Regional Study Tour will be unique amongst Australia's MBA programs,' said Professor Amalia Di Iorio, MBA Director.

'The study tour is open to students from La Trobe campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Melbourne, Mildura and Shepparton. The students will leave the classroom and spend a week in the flourishing commercial domain of regional Victoria's food, wine and arts sectors.'

The Regional Study Tour will explore the unique challenges and opportunities of operating in regional centres.

In Central Victoria students will conduct site visits at companies as diverse as Hazeldene's Chicken Farm, Bress Winery, George Weston Foods and Brewhouse Coffee Roasters.

In the Goulburn Valley they will conduct site visits at companies at Turnbull Bros. Orchards, the Murray Goulburn Co-Op and Goulburn Murray Water.

'Our students will learn how entrepreneurs and leaders are shaping industry in Victoria and how they are steering growth in their respective organisations,' said Professor Di Iorio.

The La Trobe MBA Regional Study Tour will take place from Sunday, 16 November to Friday, 21 November 2014.
