La Trobe University is set to attract the attention of an average 31,000 train passengers per month as they board VLocity trains travelling on the Melbourne to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Seymour and Traralgon lines.
La Trobe Bendigo Director, Andrew Skewes says that La Trobe is building on the recognised benefits of living and studying in a thriving University City such as Bendigo. He said that the University has taken strong action to ensure that the Bendigo campus continues its upward trend in student numbers, which will exceed 5000 in 2013.
For the next three months commuters will be exposed to the eye-catching La Trobe messages that feature along the entire carriage of a VLocity train. The highly visible train wrap will be seen by many thousands of people – including those at the extraordinarily busy Southern Cross Station.
Mr Skewes said the promotion carries an important message. ‘La Trobe is a true regional university with campuses located across Victoria. Education and health services, and quality of life factors, have been shown to be highly significant considerations for people thinking of relocating from metropolitan cities and Bendigo certainly excels in both.
‘This campaign is a great way to take a strong message to rail passengers and visitors alike. We aim to have Bendigo at the forefront of people’s minds for quality higher education as well as a terrific attraction for tourism, recreation and lifestyle,’ said Mr Skewes.
Mr Skewes said partnering with VLine is a great representation of our dual regional roles.
