Students focus on water
FRRR has awarded valuable cadetships to four civil engineering students at La Trobe University.
The cadetships are available through a donation from the Pratt Foundation to FRRR and are supported by regionally based water authorities.
The aim of the program is to encourage La Trobe University students to work in the regions when they graduate.
The cadetships are valued at $5000 a year for each student, with $3000 coming from FRRR and $2000 from the water authority.
Third year students, Claire Duke and Blake Haslam have been working with Goulburn Murray Water while Jordan Pike, who is in his second year, is gaining experience with Queanbeyan City Council.
Fourth year student, Naomi Sheppard, has won a cadetship for each year of her studies and has been working with Coleambally Irrigation in country NSW.
