Bollywood star to visit La Trobe

As part of the annual Indian Film Festival, “Bollywood and Beyond” conducted by Mind Blowing Films, starting Friday 11 March, Malaika Arora Khan will be making an appearance at La Trobe University, one of the major supporters of this year’s event.

Bollywood actress Students on the Melbourne campus will have the opportunity to ask the Bollywood actress questions, get her autograph, take photos and have the chance to win free movie passes to the festival.

Mr Manoj Vadavat International Development Manager for South Asia, from La Trobe International says students from India will appreciate being able to rub shoulders with such a well known icon.

‘It can sometimes be a little difficult being so far away from home, and students love the opportunity to experience parts of their own culture which gives them a little motivation to enjoy all aspects of the University,’ Mr Vadavat says.

He says that Malaika is very popular with the youth in South Asia and has a gift for being able to connect with them.  She is one of the most popular style icons in India and started off her career as a classical dancer, which led to acting, hosting MTV, modelling and being a television presenter.

Malaika will be meeting her fans at the Eastern Lecture Theatre 4 located on La Trobe’s Melbourne Campus at 11am until 12pm on Friday 11 March.
