Current students at La Trobe University have put their hands up to help new students as they enter university life.

o week helpers La Trobe University’s Bendigo Student Association events manager, Lauren Grange, will be training current students as O-Week leaders in preparation for next week’s intake of more than 1200 new undergraduate students who will start their courses this semester.

O-Week leaders have volunteered to act as guides for the new students. Over 70 O-Week leaders are undergoing training today to help new students familiarise themselves with the academic program and the campus.

An additional 15 students will train at 10am – 11am tomorrow to assist with the social program. Amongst other things, the social program includes:

Mon 22 Feb:    O Doof Party, music and dancing with residential students;
Tues 23 Feb:    The return of the popular African Drumming Workshop;
Wed 24 Feb:    80s Trivia Madness
Thurs 25 Feb:    The BSA Mystery Bus Tour of Bendigo’s entertainment precinct

O-Week will commence on Monday 22 February, with a civic welcome at the Bendigo Town Hall. (More info to follow).
