La Trobe Law and Management Faculty expands:  Over 40 new positions advertised

HandshakeLa Trobe University’s Faculty of Law and Management has embarked on a bold growth strategy and is expanding research and teaching in the areas of management, HR, accounting, marketing, economics, finance and law.

Dean, Professor Raymond Harbridge, says the expansion is in line with La Trobe’s overarching plans for growth spearheaded by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson.

‘The Faculty has been on a strong growth trajectory for the past three years, and the University in turn has sought to redistribute this revenue through progressive ventures,’ says Professor Harbridge.

‘The 15 per cent rise in faculty numbers will  lower the staff student ratios and boost research capabilities.

‘Our Faculty will then be able to assist with the development of cutting-edge programs and allow us to progressively increase student numbers in line with Federal Government targets,” he says.

The Faculty is currently advertising over 40 positions including- several Professor and Associate Professor positions, lecturers, research and teaching fellows, and a range of senior positions and general staff roles.

La Trobe has a proud history of socially responsible and relevant teaching and research and these strategic academic appointments will further enhance the expertise of the Faculty’s team.

‘The number of academics we are seeking should encourage research teams from other institutions to apply’ says Professor Harbridge.
