High school students from around the region can tour their local university, talk to current students and find out about the many courses offered in Bendigo when they attend the Experience La Trobe extravaganza on Tuesday 7 July 2009.

students experience Bendigo Sessions include a science and agriculture demonstration using (virtual) fruit flies that carry different mutations to investigate how mutations are inherited; a discussion of the social and political perspective about how the policies of the Howard years affected inequality and poverty in Australia; how to make mathematics education exciting; a workshop examines scenarios for future change in climate and landscape in central Victoria, and explores what they might mean for employment, housing, land use and new development; and a demonstration of the tools and observations used by nurses to assess the condition of a patient in a hospital emergency department.

A range of other interesting and informative sessions on psychology, visual arts, pharmacy, information technology, engineering, outdoor and environmental education, law, allied health, accounting and business, global migration and more are also included in the program.
Visitors can also take part in campus tours and visits to the student accommodation.

Experience La Trobe is open to high school students who interested in finding out what La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus has to offer. Friends and family are also welcome.
