Dean to discuss the future of education

23 Apr 2009

La Trobe University’s recently appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor (Regional) and Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Hal Swerissen, will discuss the potential effects of the Federal Government’s response to the Bradley Review on higher education in regional locations.

Acting Executive Director of the Bendigo Campus, Dr Andrew Harvey, said that the topic for this year’s Dean’s lecture is particularly relevant to Bendigo.  Bendigo contains La Trobe University’s largest regional campus at which 4,000 students are enrolled.

‘Community members interested in the future of higher education in regional locations are encouraged to attend this year’s lecture as it will outline the potential impacts of the Federal Government’s response to the Bradley Review on their local university,’ Dr Harvey said.

The free lecture is on Tuesday 28 April at 6.30 pm in the Circular Lecture Theatre at La Trobe University, Edwards Road (enter from gate 4 and park in Visitors car park). A location map showing the lecture theatre is available at
