Thursday, 16 September 2010, 6.00pm
Lecture Theatre 6101
Albury-Wodonga Campus

Presenter: Professor David Pannell (University of Western Australia)

Do Australia’s environmental policy programs actually deliver the environmental benefits they aspire to? What is holding them back? What would it take to make them most effective? Dave Pannell conducts research that draws together social, biological, economic, physical and policy aspects of environmental problems. He is also closely engaged with policy processes and with a variety of environmental management organisations around Australia. He will tap this experience to explain why he believes that Australia’s environmental policy performance can be substantially improved, and that once we are achieving better environmental bang for the buck, arguments for increased funding of environmental programs will be much stronger.
