The Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition hosted the 3rd International Conference on Big Data and Internet of Things on 22-24 August 2019 at Bundoora Campus. The conference featured a deep learning workshop conducted by two of our PhD candidates, Rashmika Nawaratne and Achini Adikari.
The workshop was aimed to develop essential knowledge of deep learning and key skills in practical industry applications such as transport, health and energy using Big Data and Internet of Things, and incorporated hands-on tutorials in implementing deep learning algorithms for industrial big data sets using Python, Google Colaboratory and Jupyter Notebook.
Around 25 participants from diverse backgrounds, such as IoT, Business, Sports, Data Mining, Computer Science and Geography, took part in the workshop. These participants came from countries such as Japan, Germany, China, Thailand, India and Pakistan. The workshop was well received by the participants with very positive feedback.
