Implementation of Active Support is not easy, and little research has explored why. This is the first longitudinal study of active support in Australia and the ongoing project from which the data in this paper are drawn attempts to identify some of the implementation issues experienced in supported accommodation services.
The paper gathers data from six organisations over two to four years and aims to expose the factors that impact long term success in the adoption of Active Support, which is shown to improve the quality of life for people with cognitive disability in supported accommodation.
Data on the quality of active support, staff training and practice leadership were collected. Click through to read the paper.
