The Institute for Human Security and Social Change is seeking two PhD-level Research Fellows for the new Papua New Guinea (PNG) Knowledge Platform and a Senior Research Fellow to manage the platform. These roles will make up part of a three-person team conducting research into governance and civil society in Papua New Guinea (PNG) under the Knowledge Platform of a major Australian Government initiative, the PNG Governance Facility (PGF). Working with PGF and its local partners, the Knowledge Platform will develop a collaborative and reflective research agenda that will inform and shape effective strategies for progressive social change in PNG.
Within the framework detailed above, the research fellow will conduct new applied research in PNG that provides the qualitative depth and critical analysis necessary to inform good development practice.
Within the framework detailed above, the research fellow will collate, analyse and synthesise a range of quantitative and qualitative data in order to inform good development practice. In addition to high-quality academic publications, the research fellow will also produce reports, briefs, and other communications that are accessible to PNG institutions and citizens.

To be considered for these roles you will possess a PhD or equivalent with subsequent research experience in a relevant discipline and have the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills are essential. Demonstrated high-quality skills in data analysis, reporting and communication is required for this role. A strong record of publications, conference papers, and reports is essential.

The senior research fellow will identify opportunities to provide relevant information for analysis for stakeholders while supporting the development of networks and partnerships. In addition to high quality academic publications, the senior research fellow will also manage the work undertaken by the Platform researchers.
