As part of an ongoing cultural exchange program between the two Schools, these students had the opportunity to visit our Rural Health School at the Bendigo campus, the Alfred and Austin Clinical Schools, and to spend time in classes with La Trobe nursing students at the Metro campus.
Students found the program very interesting and were enthusiastic about their experiences during their visit.
This program provides an opportunity for students to experience health and nursing care in an entirely different professional and cultural contexts, encourages student networking and comparison of nursing education and practice across the two countries. The program would not be possible without the dedication and assistance from colleagues within the School of Nursing & Midwifery.
La Trobe nursing students will visit Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore later this year as part of a 3 week short-term cultural and clinical nursing exchange program supported by The School and New Colombo Plan funding.
