Helene Johns recently graduated with her PhD. Her thesis by publication was titled Exploring the phenomenon of expressing breast milk for healthy term infants.
She was supervised by Associate Professor Lisa Amir, Professor Della Forster and Professor Helen McLachlan (in the picture: standing from left to right).
Helene was also presented the Nancy Millis Award for the
exceptionally high quality of her thesis. (The award goes to theses considered to
be in the top five per cent.)
The award is named after Professor Millis, who served as Chancellor of La Trobe University for 14 years from 1992 – 2006 and was a 'legend' in the world of science.
