La Trobe University’s Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to announce that student Nicholas Metherall will be travelling to Nairobi to take part in a 2014 Global Voices Study Tour. He will attend a pre-departure briefing in Canberra in March and will meet Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and other highly influential Australian politicians. In June, he will spend ten days in Nairobi as part of the study tour on UN sustainable development and environmental challenges.
Nick is a Bachelor of International Relations and Honours student who has previously won the prestigious Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Endeavour Award, which is awarded to promising Australian students who choose to study in the Asia Pacific and wider Asia regions. He also recently published an article in The Australian detailing his experiences while researching and living in the south central Timor district of East Nusa Tenggara Province, Eastern Indonesia.
