Professor Don Harding will present recent research on the Econometric Analysis of Recurrent Events in Macroeconomics and Finance (business cycles) during June. The lectures will take place 11 – 12 June at the Tinbergen Institute in Rotterdam. Professor Harding will present with Professor Pagan of the University of Sydney.
Tinbergen Institute is one of Europe's top graduate schools and research institutes in economics, econometrics and finance located in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Econometric and Tinbergen Institutes Lectures is a joint project between Princeton University Press and the Econometric Institute at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
This series collects the lectures of leading researchers which they have given at the Econometric Institute for an audience of academics and students.
The lectures are at a high academic level and deal with topics that have important policy implications. The series covers a wide range of topics in econometrics.
Don Harding joined the School of Economics at the La Trobe University as a Professor at the beginning of 2008. Prior to joining La Trobe Don was at the University of Melbourne where he taught in the Department of economics and was a Senior Research Fellow at the Melbourne Institute. He has also held positions in the Australian Treasury, where he was head of the Policy Research Unit, the then Industry Assistance Commission and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Don’s main research interests are in macroeconomics, econometrics and applied economics. Much of his research has been on the business cycle. He also has a keen interest in public policy.
