Art History Alumni Chapter Membership

Play a part in the future of the Art History alumni chapter

As you may be aware, the chapter committee is going to change this year, with a number of the members who have played a significant part in driving the chapter and arranging such a wealth of different events getting ready to step down.
With this in mind, your membership and active involvement in the chapter’s management and activities has never been more important.  I would actively encourage you to consider taking up a position on the chapter committee or to help to organise an event for the chapter members.  These roles can be both enjoyable and rewarding.

What your membership will bring

Last year was our most successful year so far. Membership has increased and we now number over 90. Of course we would like more and we hope to gain new members again this year.
Each year we arrange between 12 and 15 events for our members.  These events, talks, trips and exhibitions have been very popular. Our interstate trips have been highlights as has our very successful Rae Alexander Lecture.  Last year the RA Lecture at the Clemenger Auditorium at the National Gallery of Victoria attracted nearly 200 people.
Again this year we will be planning a full series of events. We recently visited Adelaide for the exhibition, TURNER FROM THE TATE: THE MAKING OF A MASTER, at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Our annual Rae Alexander Lecture at the National Gallery of Victoria will be presented later in the year.
You can renew your membership online at or by completing and returning the membership form.
For those members who do not use email we are happy to continue to notify by mail.  Please let us know if you prefer contact by mail.
We look forward to you renewing your membership and attending events with us this year.
With best wishes
