To advance your career in today’s nursing industry, postgraduate qualifications are essential.
If you’re a registered nurse, La Trobe’s Master of Nursing can help build your skills while you work. This flexible degree is designed to help you fit study around the demands of your nursing career. Through it, you’ll develop advanced expertise and prepare for more senior roles.
You can choose from 14 specialties, including emergency care, neonatal care, renal care, wound management and perianaesthetic care. According to Course Coordinator Jacqui McGregor, these specialties have been chosen in response to industry requirements.
‘La Trobe has really answered what industry needs,’ she says.
The Master of Nursing blends online study with face-to-face and hospital-based learning. You also have the option to exit your Master’s early and be awarded with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma, depending on how many units you have completed.
‘It’s a fantastic course. When you do the Master’s program it opens up your career to so many different options and avenues. It’s definitely time well spent,’ says Master of Nursing student Nathan Durbridge.
