As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence<\/a> campaign (25 November to 10 December), we\u2019re excited to launch our \u2018Picturing Respect\u2019 photography competition<\/strong>! The campaign shines light on the prevention of gender-based violence and is an opportunity for us all to stand together and champion respect. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competition details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Theme: ‘Respect Is’<\/strong>
We want you to picture ‘respect’ in a way that is meaningful to you<\/strong>. Based on Respect Victoria\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Respect Is\u2019\u00a0campaign, participants are encouraged to interpret this theme creatively and thoughtfully. For some ideas check out this short video by Respect Victoria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, we had many entries that pictured what respect meant to staff and students. Check out the winning entries here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration:<\/strong>\u00a0The competition runs from 20 October 20 to 10 November<\/strong>. During this time, entries will be accepted from all members of La Trobe University. The winners will be selected on November 24 <\/strong>and informed by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Entries will be assessed based on the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creativity and originality of concept:<\/strong>\u00a0The ability to convey a unique perspective on respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aesthetic merit of photograph:<\/strong>\u00a0The visual appeal of the photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarity of connection to the theme:<\/strong>\u00a0The photograph\u2019s ability to express the essence of \u201cRespect Is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1st prize:<\/strong> $250 voucher<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd prize:<\/strong> $100 voucher<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd prize: <\/strong>$50 voucher<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4th prize: <\/strong>$50 voucher<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to enter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Participants may submit a single photograph that depicts their interpretation of \u201cRespect Is\u201d with a short description. The quality of the photo matters less than the message it conveys. It doesn\u2019t matter if you don\u2019t have a camera, use your phone! Submit your entry via the button below through Microsoft forms. You must be logged into your university account to access it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public display<\/strong>: By participating, all entrants consent to having their photos and short descriptions displayed online during the 16 Days of Activism campaign and at any of our Respect @ La Trobe events on campus, helping to spread the important message of respect to a wider audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
