You might be wondering what to say or how to approach the situation, which is why we&#8217;re here to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could start by sending an email, or ask to organise a phone call or meeting. Before you reach out, it\u2019s a good idea to prepare by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>making a list that describes the situation in dot points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>considering what solution you are seeking \u2013 and what\u2019s reasonable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>checking if there are any policies or procedures you should be aware of<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>seeking support from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/mylatrobe\/advocacy-for-la-trobe-students\/\">Student Advocate<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helpful resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it&#8217;s in the workplace, your relationships or your university life, the Employability team offer many resources to help you navigate conflict. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/opportunities\/careers\/contacts\">Career Ready Ambassadors<\/a> who are available via a drop-in service across the semester (check when on the <a href=\"https:\/\/employabilityhub.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/events?page=1&amp;studentSiteId=1&amp;text=ambassador\">Career Hub<\/a>). They might refer you to Australian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairwork.gov.au\/workplace-problems\">Fair Work resources<\/a> or a one-on-one appointment with a Specialist Career Consultant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On-demand resources on <a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe.careercentre.me\/Resources\/elearning\/Hub.aspx?redirectUrl=\">Career Ready OnLine<\/a> \u2013 you can search the site to find specific information regarding conflict resolution.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/opportunities\/careers\/resources\">On-demand Career Ready Webinars<\/a> with information on workplace rights and responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support options at La Trobe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You might also want to look at what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/support\/student-support-policy\">student support<\/a> options are available to you. They can provide you with advice on how to approach resolving your issue and what options are available to you. Some of these services include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe-current.custhelp.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/2199\/kw\/contacting%20coordinator\">Academic Coordinators<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/support\/wellbeing\/services\/accessability-hub\">AccessAbility<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/ask-us\">ASK La Trobe<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/support\/wellbeing\">Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/indigenous\/student-services\">Indigenous Student Services<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/support\/wellbeing\/services\/safer-community\">Safer Community<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/admin\/forms\/special-consideration\">Special Consideration<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/ask-us\/advising\">Student Advising<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/mylatrobe\/advocacy-for-la-trobe-students\/\">Student Advocates <\/a>can also be a big help. Advocacy is free, independent from La Trobe and available to students at all campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Build your life skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While undertaking conflict resolution may be challenging and uncomfortable, it&#8217;s an important skill to develop and build. Practising resolving conflict at uni will end up being very helpful in your working life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t been able to resolve an issue at uni yourself, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/students\/support\/complaints\">submit a formal complaint<\/a> to the University.
