The Library website<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\">Library website<\/a> is much more than just a place to search for books or check opening hours. There are so many online resources to assist you in almost any aspect of study, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe.libguides.com\/?b=g&amp;d=a\">Expert Help Guides<\/a> &#8211; get step-by-step guides and tutorials on how to find information, complete assessments and tips for different subject and discipline areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe.libguides.com\/referencing-tool\">Academic Referencing Tool<\/a> &#8211; learn how to reference different information types (books, journal articles, newspaper articles etc).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\/assessment-thesis-support\/find-information\">Search tools<\/a> &#8211; access a wide variety of resources and information for assignments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe.rl.talis.com\/index.html\">Reading lists<\/a> &#8211; access all your subject readings in one place and save a ton of money.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\/about\/news\/events\/upcoming-events2\">Upcoming events calendar<\/a> &#8211; discover in-person and online workshops on topics such as academic referencing, time management, search skills, exams, writing assignments and more. We also host various displays, stalls and events throughout the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Online support to help you succeed<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Need some help with study or assignments? 24\/7 online support is available for all students &#8211; and it&#8217;s all free! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/latrobe.libguides.com\/achieve\">Achieve@Uni<\/a><\/strong>: browse online learning resources to find out what you need to know, learn great tips and get linked to more help.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\/assessment-thesis-support\/study-help\/libguides\">Expert help guides<\/a><\/strong>: get detailed information on a large variety of specific academic subject areas as well as cover essential academic and information skills to assist you through your academic journey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also contact the Library team online through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\/about\/contact\">Library Chat<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Study skills workshops<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer a wide variety of workshops throughout the year. Workshops can be especially helpful if you\u2019re new to studying at university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed to boost your confidence and give you the skills to succeed in your studies, workshops cover a range of topics, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How to write great assignments (literature reviews, essays, reports etc)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>academic writing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>referencing, Turnitin and plagiarism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how to use databases and Google Scholar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>time management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how to avoid burnout, and much more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To find out about upcoming workshops, visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/library\/assessment-thesis-support\/study-help\/training-and-workshops\">training and workshops webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Licensed software and databases<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library buys subscriptions to databases and software so you can find useful and interesting information on a wide variety of topics. Library databases contain very specific, reliable information designed to help you with research, coursework and assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/primo-direct-apac-admin.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com\/primo-explore\/dbsearch?vid=dbases\">databases<\/a> provide access to scholarly peer-reviewed articles, newspaper articles, book reviews, magazine articles and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Peer Learning Advisors (PLAs) and Academic Skills Advisors (ASAs)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Need help with academic writing, study skills, or time management? Drop into the Library and get the support you need from one of our Academic Skills Advisors (ASA) or Peer Learning Advisors (PLA) \u2013 no booking required!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PLAs are fellow students specially trained to help you with study and assignments, and they can help with any discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get help with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Writing and structuring assignments&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>understanding and planning assessments&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>study strategies and time management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Stop by, ask questions, and feel more confident in your studies.
